Mise-en-scene location and prop ideas

Two of the props I would like to possibly use is guitar or a mic. This is just to show what the person on the cover's role is in the band and also to fit the genre. They are also the most likely props to see in a metal magazine.

In terms of locations I'd rather use a background rather than taking the pictures in a specific location. This means the pictures will primarily be taken in front of a white screen and later a background will be added. This is so I can give the magazine an overall theme and create a style that suits the genre a lot better. In a lot of metal magazines this is done rather than a normal photo-shoot in a chosen location.
